AIR DRIVEN HYDRAULIC POWER UNIT
The Backpacker Buffalo 50 Power Unit is a hydraulic pump system designed to provide a pressurized hydraulic flow to power a flush mounted spider or a slips lifter system. The Buffalo–50 is driven by compressed air only, no electricity is used in the system.
The main item is the power unit. Additional with the unit Backpacker supplies a remote ESD is provided to shut down the system from a remote position like the drillers cabin.

The Buffalo–50 Air Driven Power Unit:
The Backpacker Buffalo–50 Power Unit is a source of hydraulic flow and pressure to drive a wide variety of oilfield tools. The power unit is solely driven by compressed air. The Unit is fully contained. All controls are located in the control panel and the level of the hydraulic oil in the tank can be checked without the need of taking off panels. The in the skid integrated sump will catch any leak in the system and is capable of holding the full volume of the oil volume in the system.
Electric and diesel driven power units consume energy even when the system is on pressure and no flow is required. The Backpacker Buffalo Power Unit has an air driven plunger pump that is designed to stall when the set hydraulic pressure is reached and no flow is required. This means no energy is consumed in this idle mode making the unit highly efficient because this situation is , in many case, 80% of the time the power unit is in operation. The unit can be used in an explosive environment when the earthling bosses of the unit are connected, grounding the unit.

Pressure: 100 psi min/140 psi max.
Compressed Air Connection:1”BSP female with a Craw-Foot Connector
Hydraulic Pressure: 1” NPT female, adjustable between 0 and 3,000 psi.
(Unit can be set to by Backpacker to run up to 5,000psi).
Maximum output flow: 60 Liters per min. at 0 psi.
Connection fitted with a 1” male Snap-Tite 78 series connector.
Hydraulic Return: 1.1/4” male Snap-Tite 78 series connector.
¼”BSP with an Air Quick Connector to attach the Remote ESD.
